Help Power Ilparakuo School with Solar Energy

Location: Olkeri Village, Magadi Ward, Kajiado West, Kenya
Goal: Provide solar power to support the education of 170+ Children

Ilparakuo Adventist Primary and Junior Secondary School was founded by and for the local Maasai community, the school serves over 170 children, many of whom face a range of challenges — including poverty, child labour, and early marriage, to lack of access to water, food, and electricity. Despite these hardships, the children are keen to learn and many walk several km each day to get to school.
We're launching a campaign to install a solar power system at Ilparakuo School, giving the teachers the electricity needed to enrich the education of the pupils.
Your support will:

  • Light classrooms and provide nighttime security on the school grounds
  • Power future ICT/computer labs
  • Enable use of cooling fans
  • Support evening learning programs/homework clubs
  • Provide teachers with ability to charge devices
  • Make boarding facilities for vulnerable girls safer
  • Reduce reliance on dangerous, expensive fuels
  • Enable future water pumping.
This school gives us hope. Without it, many of our girls would be married at 13. We just need power to keep going.

I want to be a doctor. But we need light to study after school.
